  I was out walking on Sept 11th, always walk down to the site on that date to see what’s going on, and came across these two-I think they were from South America (?)-having fun posing w various cities of the Walking Men…

  I was wondering through Tribeca with my friends Anna and Anastassia and we came across this. Being a huge Sonic Youth/Lee fan, I had to take a picture with it. I chose Washington, D.C. because I’m currently studying outside of the city in college. It’s a fantastic installation.

  I bought the LP when it came out, read some a about the cover, which I found real interesting. But when the time came for my first trip to New York (this july), it all somehow slipped my mind, and I forgot to put it on “to check out”-list. Than one of those last days in the city, we were just walking around, and suddenly it was there, “Walknig Men 99”, right across the street. So I took this shot. And only later I realised, that I capture a woman in the picture as well, sort of walking the opposite direction… - Davor Abazovic (Gothenburg, Swe.)

  Yesterday I was on the way to see Neko Case at the World Financial Center when I saw Walking Men 99, and of course I had to take a picture of myself with it! As I am a lifelong New Yorker, it was only appropriate that I took a picture of myself with the New York walking man. Unfortunately, I’m a little vertically challenged, which meant I couldn’t get my whole face and the text in the frame at once.  - Juliet E.
